The Buckthorns
are a popular local singing group Based in Lake Forest, Illinois. It is
the mission of The Buckthorns share their love of singing in a way that helps
charitable organizations and families in need. Since 1995, The
Buckthorns have performed at public and private events throughout the Chicago area to raise money for local
charities and volunteer groups. The
Buckthorns perform both a cappella and accompanied arrangements of songs ranging
from rock and roll oldies to folk,
country, gospel, doo wop, religious choral and holiday. Accompaniment includes guitar,
mandolin, keyboard and percussion.
The
Buckthorns' first CD, "Branching Out", was released in September 2003.
The
Buckthorns' second CD, "On a Silent Night", a
collection of a cappella and accompanied arrangements of the group's most
requested Christmas songs, was released in November 2004. Both CDs were
produced by Deerpath Music and may be purchased at
Voila!
in Lake Bluff and at Helander's in Lake Forest, and also may be
